Hypnosis is a natural state of selective, focused attention, and even though its 100% natural and normal, it is one of the most fascinating phenomena of the human mind.

We use this commonly occurring, and natural state of mind, unknowingly, all the time. For example, if you have ever watched a film and become really absorbed, you were probably in a trance. This trance is what caused you to not hear someone calling you until they raised her voice for the third time.  Or when you are driving down the road, with your mind focused on some other task  and next thing you know, you have arrived at your destination.

This trance state may be brought about either by oneself, unaided (self-hypnosis) or with the help of another person.

If this other person is a trained professional, who utilises the resultant state of mind to encourage beneficial change to occur, the process is referred to as Hypnotherapy.

The hypnotic state is an optimum state for

making changes in your life.  During hypnosis, the

body and conscious mind are in a relaxed, natural

state, while the subconscious mind remains awake

and receptive to suggestion.

Hypnotic suggestions bypass the intellectual mind,

called the ‘conscious mind’, and work on the

subconscious mind.

When given a new suggestion that is within the

bounds of a person's belief system and moral

orientation, the subconscious mind accepts it literally

as a new reality.

So what is hypnosis and hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is very simply Therapy under Hypnosis
